Carolyn started her US Forest Service (USFS) career with the National Forests in Florida in January 1978. While working full-time she completed her AA Degree at Tallahassee Community College. She started in Administration and transferred to Planning in 1987 where her main focus was budget and analytical work. Carolyn worked as a part-time Administrative Assistant for the National Interagency Prescribed Fire Training Center (NIPFTC) at its inception in January 1998 until 2003, when she became a full-time employee of NIPFTC.
In 2005 Carolyn became the Administrative Specialist. She has played a key role in establishing, developing, and promoting NIPFTC. Carolyn oversees all administrative and logistical aspects at the center which includes multi-agency funding. Since the firebug hit her in 1998, she has provided logistical and micro-purchasing support during fire emergencies. Carolyn serves as the Cost Unit Leader on the Southern Area Type 1 Red Team.
Her interests include singing in community chorus, playing the piano, quilting, and spending as much time as possible at the beach.
