Carolyn started her Forest Service career with the National Forests in Florida in January 1978. While working full time she completed her AA degree at Tallahassee Community College. During her 38 years she started in Administration and transferred to Planning in 1987 where her main focus was budget/analytical work. Carolyn worked as a part time administrative assistant for the Prescribed Fire Training Center at its inception in January 1998 until 2003 when she became a full time employee of PFTC. In 2005 Carolyn became the Administrative Specialist. She has played a key role in establishing, developing and promoting the center. Carolyn oversees all administrative and logistical aspects at the center which includes multi-agency funding. Once the firebug hit her in 1998, she has provided logistical and micro-purchasing support during fire emergencies. Carolyn is the Cost Unit Leader on a type 1 incident management team (southern area Red Team). Her interests include singing in community chorus, playing the piano, quilting, and spending as much time as possible at the beach.
